Regarding the Trump election interference case, Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis can continue, but must sever ties with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade.
As per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the judge’s decision on Friday requires Willis to either step aside entirely or have Wade remove himself from the case.
Judge McAfee stated that the case cannot proceed until Willis steps down with her office or Wade withdraws.

Attorney Ashleigh Merchant, representing defendant Michael Roman, revealed a romantic relationship between Willis and Wade, alleging they used taxpayer funds for extravagant trips.
Initially denying the accusations, Willis later confessed to being romantically involved with Wade.
Merchant argued that their relationship posed a conflict of interest, but the judge disagreed, stating it did not constitute an „actual conflict.“

McAfee criticized Willis for a „tremendous lapse in judgment“ and „unprofessional“ conduct during her court testimony.
He recounted an incident on Feb. 15 when Willis forcefully entered the courtroom to testify, disrupting proceedings.
Judge McAfee expressed doubts over the case’s honesty but clarified the court’s limitations in uncovering every instance of dishonesty.
Judge McAfee dismisses 3 charges against Trump
In a recent ruling, Judge McAfee dismissed 6 charges, including 3 against Trump, related to the election interference case.
Notable among the dropped charges was the controversial phone call between Trump and Brad Raffensperger, where Trump sought to find allegedly stolen votes.
This call served as crucial evidence in Willis’s case against Trump.
These dismissed charges centered on allegations that Trump and his associates tried to alter the results of the 2020 election.
