Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that District Attorney Fani Willis must either resign or fire special prosecutor Nathan Wade in the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump. I put it down.
McAfee issued the ruling in response to a motion by one of the defendants to remove Willis from the proceedings due to his improper relationship with Wade.
Willis and Wade acknowledged a „personal relationship“ but said it did not result in any direct or indirect financial benefit to either party.
The judge criticized Willis for showing a „serious error in judgment“ and acting in an „unprofessional manner“.
However, he determined that there was insufficient evidence to support a conflict of interest and instead proposed a solution that would quell concerns about the appearance of such a conflict.
“Prosecution of this case cannot proceed until the state selects one of two options: The district attorney, along with the entire office, can stand back and refer the reassignment of prosecutors to the Prosecuting Attorneys Council. McAfee said in his 23-page decision.
„Or, Mr. Wade can withdraw and move forward without the District Attorney, the defendant, and the public being distracted from and potentially undermined by his presence and compensation from the merits of this case.“
One of us has to go.
Fani Willis needs to fire herself or fire her boyfriend
The judge's ruling creates an interesting, if not tasty, scenario in which Fanny Willis essentially has to fire herself or her boyfriend, but it's a truly pathetic display and the prosecutor's office Equals total victory.
Critics argue that the core of the motion to remove Willis remains. She says she lied when she and Wade were in a relationship.
Willis' friend from college, Robin Yearty, said: testified Mr. Wade's personal relationship with the DA's office began in 2019, years before the couple said their relationship began and long before Mr. Wade was hired to work on the Georgia election interference case. .
They certified that schedule in official court filings. The seemingly obvious perjury led MSNBC legal analysts to declare it „game over“ for Willis.

The game ended, but her case survived. Many would think that Fani Willis would almost certainly fire Wade if prosecuting former President Trump cemented her status as a liberal icon.
Podcast host Megyn Kelly condemned the judge's „despicable“ decision in the case.
„The judge divided the baby,“ Kelly wrote in X. „Obviously Wade will go and Fannie will stay. It's a despicable ruling by the judge, but a huge victory for the defense team.“
Is Willis under investigation?
Kelly went on to compare Judge McAfee to Chief Justice John Roberts. Mr. Roberts often governs in coordination with left-leaning members of the court to maintain a balance that gives them favorable media coverage.
Still, Kelly said Fani Willis „has suffered public humiliation and shame“ as a result of the facts revealed at the hearing.
„I'm not at all confident that she will bring this case against Mr. Trump,“ she added. „By then she will be under multiple investigations.“
It is outrageous that Fani Willis continues to work on the Trump case and maintains her license to practice law despite GPS data showing that she clearly lied. I have never seen such a clear-cut case of perjury. There is no rule of law if lawyers can get away with it. pic.twitter.com/C3xmPDGgiM

Some charges have been removed
In a further development of trouble for Fani Willis, the judge abstained. 6 counts in the indictment against Trump and other defendants. Three of his cases were specifically related to Republican presidential candidates.
While not a completely disastrous move, it does put the lawsuit brought by Willis in a very precarious position.

McAfee also criticized calls for Fani Willis' removal from office, accusing her of being an apologist for racism.
„More problematically, rather than attributing criticism to criminal defendants' general aversion to being convicted and facing prison time, district attorneys find that their actions are motivated by „staking their race cards.'' „It was assumed that it had been tagged,'' McAfee wrote.
„She continued to frequently refer to SADA Wade as 'a black man,' while other unchallenged SADAs were labeled 'a white woman' and 'a white man.' ” he continued.
„The effect of this speech was to cast a racial slur on the accused defendant's decision to file this pretrial motion.“
He called Willis' actions and comments „legally inappropriate.“
