JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The Israeli military is investigating whether Hamas militant leader Marwan Issa was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip this week, Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported on Monday.
The Israeli military did not immediately confirm reports that a base in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip had been attacked two days earlier, based on information that Issa, believed to be the deputy commander of a Hamas armed unit, was at the scene.
