Brunson is starting to look like the second coming of Chris Paul, just with a bad attitude. He has outperformed his teammates in a way that even former teammate Doncic can't claim, and he's pushed the Knicks' deep roster through a number of injuries with a next-man-up mentality. He appears to be able to play with anyone, as the team has been bringing in all of its young mainstays on beats without replacing them all with veterans. What makes Brunson great is his footwork in the paint, his increasingly deadly 3-point shooting (40.3%), and his constant desire to get better. His career-high 27.1 points per game this season is seventh best in the NBA, and his 6.5 points are tied for 13th. Brunson became the Knicks' largest contract in franchise history, returning the team to championship contention for the first time in 30 years.
