Former President Donald Trump vehemently rejected the idea of neocon Nikki Haley as his running mate in the 2024 presidential election, addressing a crowd in Concord, New Hampshire, on Friday.
President Trump has declared that Haley does not have the qualifications required for a vice president and accused her of not putting America's interests first.
For months, numerous reports in fake news outlets have fueled speculation that President Trump was considering the warmonger Haley as a running mate. But President Trump's recent comments appear to have neutered that possibility.
„There are people who will protect America to the end. And Nicki is the person who will put America last,“ President Trump said, expressing dissatisfaction with Haley's performance on the international stage.
He recalled the decision to appoint Haley as ambassador to the United Nations, but suggested the move was more about facilitating Henry McMaster's bid to become South Carolina governor than Haley's qualifications for the role. .
„I used to watch her when we were dealing with Russia and China and all these different countries, and she would sit there and be like, what the hell?“ Trump said.
„Look, one of the reasons I did that is because I happen to love the Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster. He was a great governor, by the way. Henry was a great governor. So, I asked him for a favor. He stayed with me the whole time. I did him a favor, but I did it because he was good and very popular,“ he added.
It was clear that President Trump had bluntly rejected the possibility of Ms. Haley. „Like I said, she was okay, but she's not presidential talent. Now, when I say that, it probably means she won't be chosen to be vice president.“
“When you say certain things, you take that person out of the conversation, right?” he added.
„You can't say, 'She's not the right person to be vice president,' and then say, 'Guys, I'm proud to have you as vice president.'“
