One of the most pursued defensive linemen in the state of Texas has pared back his recruiting from more than 30 offers to focusing on a nine-man group.
Denton (Texas) Guyer defensive tackle Xavier Ukponu, Class of 2025, announced Tuesday that the following programs made his top list: LSU, Oregon, University of Southern California, Texas A&M, arkansas, California, Washington, oklahomaand florida.
Of the nine programs scheduled to compete, only three have official visits scheduled, one of which has already taken place.
Oklahoma State is the only program that has already hosted Ukponu on an official visit. The Cowboys have worked hard to get prospects on campus early in the official visit period to build relationships and establish an early class core.
Two other programs with official visit dates set are Arkansas (May 31) and LSU (June 21).
I think at least some of the other six programs will receive official visits. One program I'm eyeing for him to get into this mix is Texas A&M, which has significantly increased its recruiting presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Ukponu is a three-star prospect, the No. 88 prospect in the state of Texas and the No. 30 defensive tackle in the 2025 class.
