Mohamed Salah made more Premier League history by scoring and providing an assist in Liverpool's 4-2 win over Tottenham.
Salah had a public disagreement with outgoing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp during last week's 2-2 draw with West Ham, but on Sunday the Reds got back to winning ways. I got back on track.
At Anfield, he opened the scoring in the 16th minute, giving Liverpool a 4-0 lead before Spurs fought back in the second half to make things interesting.
Harvey Elliott received a pass from Salah and curled it in to score Liverpool's fourth goal, creating a Premier League record in the process.
Salah became the first player in Premier League history to score at least 10 goals and provide at least 10 assists in three consecutive seasons.
Meanwhile, he is also the second player after Wayne Rooney to score 10 or more goals in both competitions in five seasons.
„Mo (Salah) was outstanding, he played a really good game,“ Klopp told Sky Sports.
„The team with Harvey (Elliott) was good. I was happy for him. None of the players want to play great, so why would that happen? Mo showed what he's capable of. ”
With his earlier goal, Salah became joint top scorer with Harry Kane with nine goals in the Premier League match between Liverpool and Spurs. They also missed a golden chance to make it 5-2 before the goal was ruled out for offside in stoppage time.
In fact, the match itself is the highest scoring match in Premier League history, surpassing Arsenal vs. Liverpool.
