Many conservatives have long wanted to end government funding for National Public Radio.
NPR CEO Katherine Maher's recent tweets have resurfaced, coupled with the suspension of NPR's editor-in-chief after criticizing the station's left-wing bias, perhaps taxpayers are no longer funding NPR. I have a new idea that maybe I shouldn't do it.

It's never been a secret that NPR has a liberal bias.
NPR Director Maher has the following history: support For racial reparations and climate change ideology – befitting her new job.
Conservative activist Christopher Rufo discovered these old tweets. mentioned inside New York Times.
Maher's past social media posts are newsworthy. Veteran NPR reporter Uli Berliner wrote the article The Free Press accused his longtime outlet of having a „liberal bent“ and lacking diversity of viewpoints.
Berliner, who worked at NPR for 25 years, was immediately suspended for five days.
He cited the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden's laptop in 2020, which was reported as „Russian disinformation,“ and the conspiracy theory that the novel coronavirus originated from a Wuhan laboratory as an example of no one being held responsible. We investigated how NPR published an article about the fact that it was treated as such.
Berliner talks about prejudice
„It's one thing to miss important news, it's another to be swayed,“ Berliner writes. „Unfortunately, it happens. Sometimes we follow the wrong leads, we get misled by sources we trusted, we get emotionally invested in a story, and pieces of circumstantial evidence never add up. Big stories. It's bad to spread the word.“
„What's worse is to pretend nothing happened and move on without any guilt or remorse,“ he continued. „Especially when we expect high standards of transparency from public figures and institutions, but don't practice those standards ourselves. That shatters trust and breeds cynicism toward the media.“
Berliner said NPR is hostage to all the typical left-wing tropes.
„Race and identity have become paramount to nearly every aspect of the workplace,“ he wrote. “Journalists had to ask everyone they interviewed about their race, gender and ethnicity (among other questions), which had to be entered into a central tracking system. We had training sessions. Our growing DEI staff called for regular meetings and implored us to start talking about race. Monthly conversations were offered for “Women of Color” and “Men of Color.” Non-binary people of color were also included. ”
Defund NPR now
In response to Berliner's criticism, Maher said in a statement: „Everyone in America is entitled to free speech as a private citizen. What matters is the work of NPR and my commitment as CEO: public service, editorial independence. NPR is independent, independent and has no commercial interests.''
Yes, that's right.
Indeed, everyone has the right to free speech.
But NPR has no right to use American tax dollars to fund only their narrow views.
NPR should have been defunded a long time ago. However, there has never been a time like now.
Now is the time to support and share trusted sources.
