Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded to MSNBC's Katie Toole defending President Trump's employment record, calling her a Trump apologist.
Don’t miss Sarah Jones’ essay on Kristi Noem, “Predatory is the Point.” The Daily.
„Donald Trump has the worst unemployment record of any president in history, so we have to make sure people know that,“ Pelosi said.
„We've had a global pandemic,“ Tuer said.
„He had the worst record of any president in history,“ Pelosi said. „There were other concerns in our country. If you want to be an apologist for Donald Trump, that might be your role.“ But that's not my role.“
„I don't think anyone can fault me for that,“ Toole said.

One of the most common complaints we hear from MSNBC viewers is that some people feel that MSNBC's daytime lineup is unwatchable, and the host that viewers most often complain about is Andrea. Mitchell and Katie Tarr.
Complaints about Toole have largely centered on how she is seen by viewers as a practitioner of both-facedism, both apologizing for and playing up Republican viewpoints.
So it may come as a surprise to Ture to learn that a significant number of MSNBC viewers agree with Pelosi.
The idea that the pandemic is the sole cause of job losses under the Trump administration is a false Republican talking point.
Studies show that President Trump's economic policies were already pushing the economy into recession. The economy was already in recession before the coronavirus outbreak. President Trump's employment results would have been worse if it weren't for the pandemic. Blaming the pandemic alone for job losses ignores what President Trump has done for the economy.
To some viewers who undoubtedly support Pelosi's comments, Katie Tarr appears to be an apologist for President Trump.
