More than 1.7 million foreign nationals illegally entered the United States in the first half of 2024, the highest number for this period in U.S. history.
The number of illegal immigrants in the first half of the fiscal year was 1,733,496, more than 185,000 more than the number of illegal immigrants in the first half of 2023, which was 1,547,866.
According to the most recent information available, 246,432 illegal entry entries were reported across the United States in March, with 189,372 entries at the southwest border alone. CBP data.
CBP also processed 44,000 foreign nationals who arrived at ports of entry using the CBP One phone app last month. According to CBP data, from January 2023 to the end of March 2024, more than 547,000 foreign nationals successfully booked entry appointments at ports of entry using the app.
A new program created by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will grant parole to 404,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans from January 5, 2023 to the end of March 2024. He was arrested and released to the United States. This included 86,000 Cubans, as well as 168,000 Haitians, 77,000 Nicaraguans, and 10 Venezuelans, who CBP claims were „screened and cleared to travel.“ 2,000 people.

More than 1 million single adults (1,040,553) entered the United States illegally during the first six months of fiscal year 2024, according to CBP data. That number was larger than the individual populations of Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and about the same as the population of Delaware.
In March, CBP agents seized 16% more fentanyl and 19.6% more heroin than in February.
In the first six months of fiscal year 2024, CBP officers seized 10,026 pounds of fentanyl.
Two milligrams of fentanyl (the weight of one mosquito) is considered a lethal dose. One pound of fentanyl, or 453,592 milligrams, is enough to kill 226,796 people.
Starting this fiscal year through April 4, CBP officers have seized enough fentanyl to kill more than 2.2 billion people.
This comes after CBP Tuscon Division officers seized record amounts of money, most recently enough to kill nearly 4 billion people, Center Square said. report.
While much of the attention has been focused on the southwest border, the number of illegal border crossers has skyrocketed at the northern border, where the most terrorists have also been arrested. In the first six months of fiscal year 2024, 91,408 illegal border crossers were arrested, the most in U.S. history.
In fiscal year 2021, only 27,180 illegal border crossers were apprehended at the northern border. The number increased significantly to 109,535 people in FY2022 and 189,402 people in FY2023.
Nationally, if numbers continue on the same trajectory, illegal entry and fentanyl seizures in fiscal year 2024 will be on track to surpass all other previous years' records. CBP's fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30th.
Under the Biden administration, records for the number of illegal border crossers apprehended each year have been broken. In fiscal year 2021, 1.9 million people were arrested for illegally crossing the border, the highest number in U.S. history at that time. This figure does not include those who evade capture, known as fugitives.
This record was broken in 2022, setting a new record of more than 2.7 million people, and was broken again in 2023, with more than 3.2 million people, excluding holidays.
Since fiscal year 2021, a record 11 million foreign nationals, including 2 million fugitives, have reportedly entered the United States illegally, and Center Square report.
