President Trump ultimately spoke out about how his trial was a threat to democracy, quoting Sen. J.D. Vance, saying, „They consider this a fraud. I think it's a horrible thing that's happening. And we have a lot of people who want to come here and say, just stand back and pass a bunch of laws to stop things like this. Oh, J.D. Vance, what's going on in that courtroom is a threat to democracy, and no country can prosecute political opponents instead of persuading voters.
The man who tried to steal the election and end democracy is now facing criminal charges and claims democracy is in danger.
The former president continued reading quotes from a pile of documents, as if to convince himself that the American people were behind him.

President Trump seems to know that he cannot win in court. He also seems to understand on some level that Michael Cohen's testimony is very bad for him. Outside the courthouse, Trump was in a panic, and he spent many minutes throwing everything at the wall and hoping something would work out.
Donald Trump knows there is a significant percentage of voters who say they would not vote for him if the former president was convicted of a felony. President Trump is trying to discredit this process in hopes of discrediting his conviction.
Michael Cohen's testimony was bad for Trump, But to make matters worse, the show took place outside the courtroom.
