„Given the serious and pervasive nature of Eastman's unethical conduct, the harshest possible professional sanctions are warranted to protect the public and maintain public confidence in the legal system.“ Roland ruled.
Eastman was the architect of a sham election scheme and conspiracy to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election. According to testimony at the 1/6 committeeJohn Eastman knew the coup plot was illegal. And he knows that what he was trying to do to keep Trump in power was against the law, but he knows that the Supreme Court has ruled that Trump will survive the coup and remain in power. I thought he would forgive me.
Trump's disbarment for his actions related to the coup attempt, along with the potential disbarment of Jeffrey Clark, should send a message that what Trump and his cohorts tried to do in 2020 was illegal.
It may seem like there are no consequences for Trump and his accomplices, but the consequences will come. Disqualification is one of the consequences of participating in a coup attempt.
