CNN brings you a controversial report on the death of former NFL player O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of the serial murders of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. I had a lot of trouble trying to explain why people were happy about it.
Correspondent Stephanie Elam was the first to provide analysis on Thursday afternoon.
Elam, the network's climate change analyst, seemed to imply that people were excited to see O.J. get away with murder as a black celebrity.
„It's also remarkable, Jake, how much of an impact this trial has had because so much has happened. We've seen policing change here in the city.“ she started talking.
„And because of those riots in the '90s, those race riots, so many people who might not have invested in O.J. It's also worth noting why you were so happy to see it,“ Elam continued, stammering a bit, „…and others have done it in the system as well.“
JUST IN — CNN's Stephanie Elam, reporting on O.J. Simpson's death, accidentally said the quiet part aloud.
“So many people were just happy to see that the rich and famous and black could get away with what…well…everyone else did in this system.” pic.twitter.com/7j4zPCUlo5

CNN Analyst – O.J. Simpson helped right the wrongs of slavery by killing white people
With Friday, a new day has begun. CNN gets a fresh start with coverage of O.J. Simpson. But it didn't get much better. In fact, commentator Ashley Allison made things even worse with her analysis.
Allison said that although O.J. was clearly not a social justice warrior, did Representing the black community. why? Because his victims were white.
„I cheered, I was happy. I don't think I had any concept of who was guilty and who was innocent,“ she said, noting that she was still in eighth grade when O.J. was sent home.
„It's not just what happened right before Rodney King, but also how black Americans feel about police that led to such racist accusations.“
„It's not like O.J. Simpson was a civil rights leader in his time. You know, he wasn't a social justice leader,“ Allison explains.
„But he represented something to the black community at that moment in that trial, especially since there were two white people killed,“ she says. „And the history around how Black people were persecuted during slavery. There were so many layers.“
Oh my gosh: A CNN contributor suggests that the reason black people identify with O.J. is because he murdered white people.
„(O.J.) represented something for the black community in that moment, in that trial, especially because two white people had been killed.“

interesting analysis
O.J. Simpson, 76, died Thursday at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a battle with prostate cancer. CNN failed miserably in trying to convey why his acquittal for the violent murders of his wife and her friend was praised by some.
Or maybe it was successful.certainly there was Many people were happy to see him „get everything done.“
And while an equally large number of forces wanted him to get away with the incident in order to win against the police, the victim would be blamed because he was white.
Former CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill was fired for past extremist comments. raised eyebrows He expressed his views on the O.J. Simpson case.
„O.J. Simpson was a terrible liar who abandoned his community long before he murdered two people in cold blood. His acquittal for murder was the right and necessary outcome of a racist criminal legal system. ” he wrote to X.
„But he's still a monster, not a martyr.“
Alison and Elam seem to have different opinions.
