Two left-wing climate change activists have been charged with felonies for defacing a display case of the U.S. Constitution.

„The National Archives Rotunda is a sanctuary for our nation's founding documents,“ U.S. Archivist Dr. Colleen Shogan said in a statement after the incident. „They are here for all Americans to see and understand our nation's principles. We take acts of vandalism like this very seriously, and we will punish perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law.“ I insist on prosecution.”
The duo's vandalism on February 14th prompted an immediate eviction from the Rotunda. Video taken by supporters showed the two covered in red powder, and a constitutional protection display case also appeared to be sprinkled with red powder.
