Barbados-based COSCAP (Composers, Authors and Publishers Copyright Association) has entered into a partnership agreement with SoundExchange companies CMRRA (Canadian Music Reproduction Rights Agency) and SX Works Global Publisher Services.
According to a press release announcing the news, the deal marks „an important milestone in international music rights management.“
COSCAP's partnership agreement with CMRRA provides that CMRRA will oversee the mechanical reproduction rights of COSCAP members throughout the Canadian market.
To strengthen the partnership, SX Works Global Publisher Services division will manage end-to-end management with The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) in the US on behalf of COSCAP members.
Originated from SoundExchange's acquisition of CMRRA, SX Works Global Publisher Services provides management solutions that enable music publishers and self-published songwriters to manage repertoire and musical works across the music ecosystem.
US recorded music licensing organization SoundExchange obtained CMRRA of 2017.
