To most people's surprise, Baldur's Gate 3 has won yet another Game of the Year award. This time from the Game Developers Choice Awards, held tonight as part of the Game Developers Conference (GDC). Additionally, his 2023 game Venba from Visai Games won the Seumas McNally Grand Prix for Best Independent Game at tonight's Independent Games Festival (IGF) Awards.
Larian Studio's RPG won three awards on the night, including Best Narrative and Best Design. Tears of the Kingdom won the innovation award, while Alan Wake and Hi-Fi Rush also won the visual arts and audio awards respectively.
Other winners on the night included the IGF Awards' Nuovo Award, which recognizes games that change the way you think about gaming, which went to horror game Anthology of the Killer.
Yoko Shimomura, the legendary composer behind works such as „Kingdom Hearts,'' „Legend of Mana,'' and „Parasite Eve,'' received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
