Apple's new MacBook Air laptops have arrived as expected. The upgrades are internal only, but they are quite notable.
The new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs are both powered by Apple's M3 chip, which the company says is up to 60% faster than models with the M1 chip (Apple hasn't compared them to the M2 chip. This is probably because the difference is not that big).
The M3 chip has features such as faster Wi-Fi (thanks to support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard) and the ability to connect your laptop to two external monitors (as long as the lid is closed). There are some additional benefits. M3 also features a 16-core Neural Engine, which improves performance for AI-related tasks.

Other notable specs include 18 hours of battery life, up to 24 GB of RAM, and up to 2 TB of storage in both 13-inch and 15-inch versions (all of which are higher than previous models). (unchanged).
Externally, the new laptop looks exactly the same as the previous version and has the same dimensions.
The new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs start at $1,099 and $1,299, respectively, and both are available in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Gray. The new laptops will be available on March 8th at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.
Notably, you can still buy the M2 version of the MacBook Air from Apple, but only in the 13-inch version starting at $999.
