apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) will explore the possibility of manufacturing some of its devices in Indonesia in an effort to reduce its dependence on China, Bloomberg News reported.

Apple's top executives are visiting several countries in South Asia, with the latest talks coming a day after Cook visited Vietnam noted that the company aims to increase investment in the country and strengthen cooperation.

The tech giant opened an Apple Developer Academy in Bali during Cook's fourth visit to Indonesia, as part of its efforts to meet the need for locally produced parts and software in smartphones and other devices. The company invested a total of Rp 16 billion (approximately $98.5 million) in the four academies, the report added, according to Information and Communications Technology Minister Budi Ali Setiadi, who also attended the meeting.
